ORDINANCE NO. 223 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BREA REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON <br />THE PUBLIC STREETS AND REPELLING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND <br />FARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. <br />The City Council of the City of Brea does ordain as follows: <br />ARTICLE I <br />DEFINITIONS <br />Section 1. Definitions of Words and Phrases. (a) The following <br />words and phrases when used in this ordinance shall for the purpose of this <br />ordinance have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this article. <br />(b) Whenever any words or phrases used in this ordinance are not <br />defined herein, but are now defined in the Vehicle Code of this state, <br />such definitions are incorporated hereir and shall be doomed to apply to such <br />words and phrases used herein as though set forth herein in full. <br />Section 2. Alley. Any unnamed street less than 25feet in width <br />between property lines. <br />Section 3, Central Traffic District. All straits and portions of <br />streets within the City of Brea. <br />Section 4. Business District. The territory contiguous to a public <br />street, when fifty (50) percent or more of the property fronting on one <br />side of said street for a distance of six hundred (600) feet, or where <br />fifty (50) percent oft more of the property fronting on both sides <br />collectively of said street for a distance of three hundred (300) feet, <br />is occupied by buildings in use for bossiness. <br />Section 5. Loading Zone. The space adjacent to a curb reserved for <br />the exclusi-+e use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers <br />or materials. <br />Section 6. Official Time Standard. Whenever certain hours are <br />named herein, they shall mean standard time or daylight saving tine as <br />may be in current use in this city. <br />Section 7. Official Traffic Control Devises. All signs, signals, <br />markings and devices not inconsistent with this ordinance placed or erected <br />by authority of a public body or official hoving jurisdiction for the <br />purpose of regulating, warning or guiding traffic. <br />
