I ORDINANCE 140. 206 1 AN ORDI'NA1NNCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIC' CITY OF BREA PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING AND REGULATION 2 OF ALL BUSINESSES, TRADES, CALLINGS AND OCCUPATIONS FOR IxMICH THE CITY OF BREA HAS THE LEGAL RIGHT TO 3 LICENSE AND REGULATE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES 4 OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. 5 The City Council of the City of Brea does ordain as follows: 8 SECTION l: It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, 7 firm, copartnership, corporation or any other association, or for 8 any person as agent, servant, clerk or employee, for himself or for 9 any other person, firm, copartnership, corporation, or other asso- 10 ciation within the corporate limits of the City of Brea to commence 11 or carry on any trade, calling, occupation, profession or pursuit, 12 until he, she, they or it shall have first obtained a license there- 13 for as in this Ordinance required. Or if for any reason a license 14 fee therefor cannot be legally required, a determination by the City 15 to that effect, after an application made and a writte: license 16 issued, whereby it is determined therein that no license fee is 17 required. 18 SECTION 2: Each and every day or any fractional part of a 19 day that any such pursuit, trade, occupation, calling or profession 20 is carried on without such license shall constitute a violation of 21 this Ordinance and any person, firm, copartnership, corporation or 22 other association who or which shall violate any of the provisions 23 of this Ordinance shall for each violation thereof be deemed guilty 24 of a misdemeanor and upon conviction by any court having Jurisdic- 25 tion thereof shall be fined in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred 26 (4300.00) Dollars or shall be imprisoned in the City jail of the 27 City of Brea or the County jail of Orange County, California, not i 28 exceeding thirty (30) days or punished by both such fine and im- 29 prisonment. 30 SECTION 3: All licenses issued under the provisions of this 31 Ordinance shall be posted in the place of business of the licensee, 32 and every person not having a place of business and required to have, -1-
